This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, optimizing patients’ medical conditions, and ensuring a care plan tailored to individual needs. You would perform interventional procedures, review and manage medications, and coordinate care for patients with complex pain issues. Additionally, you would assist as needed in our Pre-Admission Surgical Screening clinic, performing surgical clearances.

A day in the life of an Interventional Pain Medicine Physician at ROC
- Diagnose and treat acute, chronic, and cancer-related pain conditions;
- Evaluate pain sources using a multidisciplinary approach;
- Manage medications for pain relief, including opioids and non-opioid therapies;
- Provide specialized care for adult and pediatric patients experiencing surgical, chronic, or cancer-related pain;
- Perform epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks and joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other advanced pain interventions;
- Collaborate with other specialists to plan and coordinate patient care;
- Develop comprehensive pain management plans tailored to individual patient needs;
- Ensure safe and effective pain management practices;
- Monitor for adverse effects and medication interactions;
- Advocate for patient quality of life and functional improvement;
- Assist the anesthesiologists in the surgery center by performing surgical clearances as needed to support the Pre-Admission Surgical Screening clinic;
- Stay updated on emerging pain therapies and best practices.
Requirements
- Valid and unrestricted State of Nevada medical license (MD/DO) prior to employment;
- Completion of a residency program in Anesthesiology;
- Board Certification (or eligibility to obtain) in Interventional Pain Medicine after fellowship completion with appropriate interventional training.
