Description
Athens Orthopedic Clinic is currently seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Physiatrist to join our clinical network to support succession planning and growth. AOC is led, owned and governed by physicians with a strong focus on preserving autonomy and quality of care.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the AOC Pain Management, Spine Surgery and Outpatient Therapy to drive continual improvements in clinical care, and further position AOC as the industry leader.
- Provides comprehensive, multi-disciplinary interventional pain management care through a combination of interventional procedures, therapies, and medication management, as needed.
- Evaluate patients for medical concerns i.e., injury, disease, chronic pain, or a disabling condition) and assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
- Performs a full range of injections, medial branch blocks, nerve blocks, RFA procedures, advanced procedures, and other minimally invasive techniques.
- Performs EMGs and Nerve Conduction studies.
- Creates a safe, balanced, and patient focused approach to pain management and the patient’s treatment plan, including monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients and adjusting treatment plans, as necessary.
- This position is both clinic- and ASC-based with procedures performed both in-office and in the practice’s state-of-the-art ASCs, each with a dedicated support staff experienced in interventional pain procedures.
- Directs, supports, supervises, and collaborates with Advanced Practice Providers (Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners) in care delivery.
- Maintains accurate, timely, and complete Electronic Health Records detailing the patients’ treatment plans and outcomes.
- Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic radiology exams, laboratory testing, and other modalities to assess patients’ condition and progress.
- Initiates timely consultation and referrals when a patient’s condition or problem exceeds the scope of the practice and/or the physicians’ expertise.
- Actively participates in growing the practice through marketing to referral sources, educational events, and social engagements.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Requirements
Must be a board eligible or certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Fellowship training in Interventional Pain Management preferred but not required.
