Description
Responsibilities
- Discuss medical history with patients to acquire knowledge of healthcare practices.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose pain conditions.
- Create and discuss a pain management treatment plan with patients.
- Treat patients by employing interventional techniques such as injections and/or other devices.
- Respond to patient questions and health concerns.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Prescribe medications, if applicable.
- Refer patients for laboratory and diagnostic tests. Assess medical results.
- Educate patients on pain management and lifestyle changes.
- Delegate tasks and communicate frequently with APRNs and other members of care team.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in pain management.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and well-being.
- Review and retain orderly and well-kept patient records.
- Communicate pertinent medical records to appropriate specialists as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare and pain management regulations and standards.
Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of pain mechanisms and pharmacology.
- Proficient in interventional pain procedures, joint injections, nerve blocks, and epidural injections.
- Working knowledge of medical equipment such as C-Arm.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary care team in a clinic setting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Patience, compassion, and the ability to empathize with patients in pain.
- Passionate about pain management and dedicated to providing high-quality and safe patient care.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Education & Experience Requirements
- A medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state medical license.
- Board certification in Pain Management.
- Dual board certification – Pain Management and Anesthesia (preferred)
- Experience with a wide range of pain management practices.
- Track record of adhering to healthcare ethical code of conduct.
