The Orthopedic Clinic is seeking an experienced candidate that has proven human resources leadership abilities in a high volume, fast paced setting to join our dynamic team as our Human Resources Generalist.

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for strategic planning, leading and directing of the day-to-day human resources functions, including benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment /retention, HRIS/payroll administration, affirmative action and employment law compliance. This role requires exemplary customer service skills, problem solving, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and previous leadership skills.

We believe every patient should receive the best possible care, our practice offers an array of services specializing in general orthopedics, spine care, sports reconstruction, adult reconstruction and non-surgical treatments. We currently have eleven Orthopedic Surgeons, one Interventional Pain Management Physician, Mid-Level Providers, and a Physical Therapy team who serve patients at four locations within Volusia and Flagler counties.

What the Human Resources Generalist will do:

  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions; collaborates with managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Conducts background screenings and employee eligibility verification
  • Maintains all employee and applicant documentation and personnel files as dictated by governing agencies
  • Plans onboarding strategies and performs new employee orientation to deliver an exceptional new hire experience
  • Develops, administers, and tracks compliance training, continuing education, and employee development programs
  • Drives and administers employee engagement and recognition programs and gives actionable insight into improving the employee experience
  • Recommends and develops employee relations practices to foster a positive employer-employee relationship
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process. Maintains and distributes list of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan. Verifies benefit billing accuracy and processes for payment
  • Manages, tracks and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigations
  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers on employee related matters
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done timely
  • Completes compensation analysis to ensure competitive pay to recruit and retain top talent
  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual
  • Conducts and analyzes exit interviews and makes actionable recommendations based on data
  • Assists with budgetary, organizational and space planning
  • Develops and distributes company-wide communications
  • Maintains compliance with all federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulation and recommends best practices
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, compensation, and employment law


  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive human resources experience, SHRM certification a plus
  • Solid understanding of all local, state, and federal regulations
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver’s License / Clean Driving Record/ Proof of auto insurance
