Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is one of four hospitals operated by the County of Los Angeles and is located in the north end of the San Fernando Valley, about 30 minutes away from UCLA. The facility is a 377-bed hospital built in 1987 and is the newest acute care medical center operated by the County of Los Angeles. It serves the needs of low income and indigent patients. It is a beautiful campus that provides an enjoyable working environment. The hospital offers a full range of primary and specialty care services. The hospital is affiliated with the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine and is one of the main training sites for other UCLA residency programs, including General Surgery, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Anesthesiology, Pediatrics, OB-Gyn, Neurology, Emergency Medicine, and Family Medicine. The hospital’s medical staff comprises more than 400 physicians who care for nearly 30,000 patients each year. In addition to its patient care services, UCLA Olive View also conducts research and offers educational programs for medical professionals.
