Join a Growing, Collaborative Pain Management Practice in Coastal New England
Comprehensive Pain Management (CPM) is seeking a Board-Certified Pain Management Physician to join our expanding multidisciplinary team serving patients across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our practice is built on a patient-centered approach to pain care, combining advanced interventional techniques with compassionate, individualized treatment plans.
You will join a supportive team of 3 physicians and experienced nurse practitioners who value collaboration, clinical excellence, and work-life balance. Position Summary
The Pain Management Physician evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and monitors patients with acute and chronic pain conditions. The physician will utilize a multimodal and evidence-based approach to care, incorporating interventional procedures, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.
Interventional procedures may include, but are not limited to:
- Spine and joint injections
- Epidural steroid injections
- Nerve blocks
- Radiofrequency ablation
- Trigger point injections
- Head and neck pain interventions
- Other advanced pain management techniques
- The physician will work closely with clinical and non-clinical support staff including medical assistants, nurses, and administrative personnel, while collaborating with physician partners and affiliate organizations across the practice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including physical examinations and medical histories
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on optimizing patient outcomes and function
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and testing
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and interventions as clinically appropriate
- Perform interventional pain procedures utilizing best practices and evidence-based techniques
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Educate patients and families regarding pain management strategies and self-care techniques
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, referring providers, and healthcare partners
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and multidisciplinary teams throughout the organization
- Partner with affiliated vendors and third-party organizations regarding billing, compliance, healthcare regulations, and operational initiatives
- Participate in practice growth and quality improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pain Management/Anesthesiology
- Medical Degree (MD from an accredited medical school
- Completion of accredited Anesthesiology Residency
- Completion of accredited Pain Fellowship
- Active Rhode Island and/or Massachusetts Medical License, or ability/intention to obtain licensure
- Current DEA License
